Welcome to the MLTA -
The association for all mountain leaders.
Welcome to the Mountain Leader Training Association. MLTA is the association for climbing and walking leaders who either hold a national award (Full Member) or are candidates within one of the training schemes (Associate Member). It aims to provide improved communication between award holders and the training boards, allowing members to keep up to date with and be involved in current developments in mountain training. Many people join MLTA as a great opportunity for demonstrating Continued Professional Development through access to information and certificated training events, staffed by the UK's top experts in training leaders for mountaineering activities.
Membership is open to anyone who has registered for any of the awards overseen by MLTUK and the home nation training boards. Membership of one of the Mountaineering Councils of the UK home nations is also required, either as an individual or as a club member. This includes free civil indemnity insurance for all trainees - after successfully completing an assessment additional insurance is required, and MLTA can offer good advice on available packages.

MLTA Conference November 06- Report
The Conference was a great success with around 70 people attending the first MLTA gathering at Plas y Brenin. A number of the workshops were over subscibed but most of those attending managed to attend their main choices. The verbal feedback on the day was extremly positive as were the end on Conference feedback forms. Those attending expressed a keen interest in attending similar events in the future.
